Interesting Facts about Dundalk Greyhound Stadium

Dundalk Greyhound Racing Stadium has a long and chequered history harking all the way back to 1930. When it was established by none other than Paddy Martin, who also acted as Racing Manager, it named itself the Ramparts, and boasted support from all over the country. To attract new punters and to get British greyhounds to run at the track, Paddy’s brother Jimmy, who took over in 1957, introduced the Dundalk International in 1968. Sadly, the racetrack saw a lot of wear and tear over the years, leading to it requiring a facelift.
